first 4000 course first 4000 course

Reach 4000m high, can mean for many of us to achieve an important mountaineering goal. Some summits are technically easy to access while others require qualities of accomplished mountaineer.
Several peaks over 4000m are available for beginners. However, it requires to have a very good physical condition.
Gran Paradiso in Italy (4061m) will be our first objective. Crossing various alpine terrains, forests, alpine prairies, rocky zones before eventually entering the world of the glacier and High Mountain environment, with attaining the summit after 4/5 hours walk from the refuge.

Meeting with your guide the previous evening to review the equipment required, the proposed program and weather conditions:
Day 1: Vallée Blanche traverse. Ascent to 3842m altitude and descent along the ridge to the Midi 'plateau' where the depth of the glacier is approximately 400m beneath your feet.  Roped up, we will walk in the direction of Italy in the heart of the Mont Blanc range where many 4000m summits will dominate us. (Return by cable car to the Aiguille du Midi, and Chamonix)
Day 2: Departure mid-morning from Chamonix to the village of Pont in Italy (1850m) via the tunnel of Mont Blanc (about 1h30). Ascent to Chabod refuge (2730m) at the foot of the North Face of the Grand Paradis.
Day 3: Early morning departure, a steep path leads in 1 hour on the Laveccio Glacier. From here, we will continue to the summit (about 3h30). We will descent by another route, passing the refuge Victor Emanuel (2750m) and then we will continue down to the valley. Return to Chamonix by car towards the end of the afternoon.
This program can be modified depending on the conditions and the level of participants. If conditions demand it is possible that we offered you another summit of 4000m.
