INTRODUCTION

This 4 day raid for crossing the Grand Paradiso is a perfect combination for an enjoyable moment. Located in the heart of the Aosta valley, the summit of Grand Paradiso (4061m) is one of the 4,000 summits most accessible by ski in the Alps. 

There is also a shorter version for this crossing in 2 or 3 days, still combining the summit and with 2 memorable descents.

You will love the beautiful scenery and the warm shelters.

 

PROGRAM

2 days program: 
• A crossing and express ascent
• Ascent and descent by two different routes
• Ascent of a tormented glacier that plunges us into a high mountain universe
• A comfortable, warm and friendly refuge
 
Day 1: Ascent to the refuge Chabod 
Meeting around 9:00 am in Chamonix to check the equipment. Transport to Pont Valsavarenche (1800m). Ascent to Chabod refuge (2750m).
Elevation: 950m +
 
Day 2: Ascent of Grand Paradiso summit 4061m. 
Departure around 7:00 am to climb the Grand Paradiso via Laveccio glacier, a crevassed area where we will have to find our way. Descent by the normal route. Stop at the refuge Vittorio Emanuele (2700m) and continuing until Pont (1900m)
Elevation: 1300m +,  2050m -
 
3 day program :
• Ascent of a tormented glacier that plunges us into a high mountain universe
• Comfortable, warm and friendly refuges
• Ascent of a summit over 4000m
• Two amazing ski descents, Grand Paradiso and Grand Etret.
 
Day 1 : Ascent to refuge Chabod
Meeting around 9:00am in Chamonix to check the equipment. Transport to Pont in the Valsavarenche (1800m). Ascent to refuge Chabod ( 2750m). 
Elevation: 950m +
 
Day 2 : Traverse of Grand Paradiso 4061m 
Departure around 7:00 am to climb the Grand Paradiso via Laveccio glacier, a crevassed area where we will have to find our way. Descent by the normal route and stop at refuge Vittorio Emanuel where we will spend the night.
Elevation: 1300m +, 1330m -
 
Day 3 : Traverse of Grand-Etret
Departure around 7:00am to reach the base of the western edge of Ciaforon (2900m). Great descent across the glacier of Etret. Climb to the top of the East Grand Etret and cross to the western summit (3400m). Glacier descent via Seyvas valley to get back to Pont village. (1900m).
Elevation: 650m +, 1300m -
 
 
4 day program :
• The complete crossing of Grand Paradiso
• A true alpine ride for which prior experience ski touring is essential
 
Day 1: Ascent to Vittorio Sella Refuge
Meet 9:00 am in Chamonix for the equipment check. Transport to the Hamlet of Valnontey (1666m) in the valley of Cognes. Ascent to Vittorio Sella hut (2584m) through a large forest.
Elevation: 930m +
 
Day 2: Traverse from refuge Sella to refuge Chabod.
Early start. Ascent of Grand Serre (3552m). Descent by the west, climb to the col of Grand Neyron and then descent to the Chabod refuge (2700m) where we spend the night.
Elevation: 1300m +,  800m -
 
Day 3: Traverse of Grand Paradiso 4061m
Starting around 7:00 am to climb Grand Paradiso via the glacier Laveccio. Descent by the normal route to the refuge Vittorio Emanuel where we spend the night.
Elevation: 1300m +, 1330m -
 
Day 4 : Traverse of Grand-Etret
Departure around  7:00am to reach the base of the western edge of Ciaforon (2900m). Great descent across the glacier of Etret. Climb to the top of the East Grand Etret and cross to the western summit. (3400m) Glacier descent via Seyvas valley to get back to Pont village (1900m). Return to Chamonix.

FOR WHO - LEVEL

According to the program chosen it is necessary to have ski touring experience and to be in good physical condition.

INFORMATION

*Participants : 5 people maximum per guide
 
*Period: From mid-march to end of april.
 
Available with a private guide.
 
You will meet your guide the day before to prepare your tour and check any questions you might have. 

RATES

In a group:
2 day program: 359 € per person
3 day program: 579 € per person
4 day program: 839 € per person
 
Included: guiding fee, safety equipment, 1/2 board accommodation in mountain refuges, packed lunch and transfers according to the program.
Not included: first day lunch, drinks, personal expenses and other equipment.
